These photos were sent to us from Mr. Rob Buurman who has been a great help in giving us information about the coal barges which were drawn by horses in times gone by. When the barges had to turn around on the canal, the horse was taken across a bridge similar to this one. We have included this information in our new book and these photos have helped with our illustrations.
